Free Monthly Newsletter
First of all, we would like to thank you for visiting our site. This site is new, but the school, The Academy of Floral Arts, is sixteen years old. As we stated on the opening pages, this site is for the professional florist, home hobbyists, and the crafters.
This newsletter will be a free feature that will be posted on our site. It will be changed the first Monday of each month. There will be an archive that you can go to to read past issues. If you have any questions, or things you might want in the newsletter, please e-mail us at www.theacademyoffloralarts.com.
News For the Professional Florist
Our President and founder of the academy owned a flower shop for 37 years. His expertise is priceless in preparing for the holidays, going to gift market, and just planning for the year.
This is April, and Easter is upon us. It is time to start thinking about plans for Mother’s Day. The first thing you need to do is look at last year’s records. See what you sold, what you had left over, the number of deliveries you made, and any overtime worked. If you did not write this down, you need to do it this year. You cannot know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been. The best thing you can do is plan ahead. Don’t wait until the first of May and say. “Oh my gosh! Mother’s Day is just around the corner”.
May is a busy month. With proms, Mother’s Day, graduations, and Memorial Day, you need to have a good plan. Plan ahead. This should help you with the ordering, the dump age, and the over time, these are the things that cut into the profits. Our free monthly newsletters can help you plan your year way in advance.
What Should Home Hobbyist’s Be Doing
If you want your home business to grow this is a good time to start contacting clubs and special groups for programs for next year. Many organizations don’t meet during the summer months, but they plan their programs for next year. If you are serious about doing some outside decorating or having craft shows of your own, now is the time to start planning. Get the jump on next fall. Get yourself booked in to doing some programs.
Organizations always seem to be looking for programs . Keep you eye on those seasonal clarence sales. This is a good chance to pick up some real bargains. Now remember, a bargain isn’t a bargian unless you can use it. In your home business you have to keep your inventory in check, just as retail outlet does.
