creating wedding flowers video
Creating Your Wedding Flowers

The video “Creating Your Wedding Flowers” is by far the most comprehensive, informative, and up to date instructions on the
market today. It contains one hour and forty minutes of total wedding instruction.

The instructor starts the tape with a segment on how to buy silks, selecting colors and what to look for. It includes how to plan what is needed in the way of silks for each person and also for other decorations.

In the actual instructional part of the video, the instructor starts with bow making, goes through step by step on how to make corsages, boutonnieres, hair pieces, flower girl baskets, bridesmaids bouquets (both clutch and nosegay style), bridal cascades, and closes with candelabra decorations and pew treatments for the church.

Wedding tips are constantly given throughout the tape to aid in the planning of the wedding. If you are planning a wedding, or want to design for profit, this tape is a must and will be one of the best investments you make.

Wedding Designs: The Basics

Learning to become a wedding expert, that’s what this tape is all about. The video starts with the Academy’s instructor, Don J. Pfannenstiel AIFD AAF PFCI KAFA, giving a lecture to an advanced wedding class at the Academy. He is telling them how to sell weddings, talk to the brides, their mothers, and what suggestions to make.

He then starts the floral demonstrations. Starting with a simple nosegay in a bouquet holder, a very complete step by step instruction is given. With a camera in front, one stationary and one behind Mr. Pfannenstiel, it is like being in a classroom.

The second project is a hand-stemmed bouquet. This is something that can be used for the flower girl, and/or the cake top and then used for the throw bouquet. The instructor shows you how to wire and tape the flowers, group them together and add fillers.

That nice hand tied look in a colonial bouquet is often times a lot more difficult than it looks. Our instructor has this one down pat, demonstrating a technique that will let anyone create that professional look along with keeping it fresh until the wedding.

The final demonstration is the traditional bridal cascade in the bouquet holder. This technique can be developed into many different bridal bouquet styles.

This tape, along with this total series, Becoming a Floral Artist, is a must for any beginning designer and/or independent professional floral shop owner.

Wedding Designs for the Modern Bride

This video presentation is more than just design demonstrations.
In his commentary, our instructor, Don J. Pfannenstiel AIFD, AAF, PFCI, KAFA, tells you how to become that wedding expert.

He shares stories of tradition, and the importance of making the bride feel comfortable with you as their florists. He will demonstrate several techniques in designing hand tied bouquets, ribbon wrapping stems, making composite flowers, simple pomanders, and gluing corsages. Short cuts will be given.

In something as labor intense as wedding work, time is money. Today’s modern bride is as interested in color and texture as she is in the selection of the flowers. Be totally ready. When that bride comes in to see you, be a cut above the competition, be the “wedding florist” for your community. 1 hr.
