The instructor for the video series is Nationally known designer and commentator Don J. Pfannenstiel AIFD, AAF, PFCI, KAFA. He chose flowers as his medium for creative expression. Don has a BS degree in Art, with his Masters work done in Interior Design. He is a former school teacher and was a floral shop owner for 37 years.
Don has designed and/ or commentated in over 40 states, has won over 60 state and international design competitions and hosted a local Television show on designing flowers in the home. Don’s talents have taken him everywhere from the White House in Washington D.C., to special design commissions throughout the United States.
He has designed for national trade journals, wire service publications, has had articles and newsletters published in national gift magazines, and was a finalist in FTD’s national "Peoples Choice Award". He placed twice in the top five of the Carik Cup International design competition, was named Ozark Designer of the year, and was twice named Kansas Designer of the Year.
He is an FTD Master Florist Manager and has successfully opened and operated six floral shops, a greenhouse production growing range and nursery.
Don is a selected member of the very prestigious American Institute of Floral Designers, The American Academy of Florists, The Professional Floral Communicators International and The Kansas Affiliated Floral Artists. He was elected to; Who’s Who’s in America, Men of Achievement, Men of the Southwest, Oxford’s Who’s Who’s and International Men of Achievement.
